What’s Up: November 2026 Skywatching Tips from NASA

Meteor showers, a close pairing of Mars and Jupiter, a Voyager 1 milestone, and a November supermoon.

The Southern Taurids peak around November 5, followed by the Northern Taurids around November 12. Both offer occasional bright fireballs, even though only a handful of meteors per hour are expected under ideal conditions.

On November 15 and 16, look southeast before sunrise to see Jupiter and Mars appear just 1.2 degrees apart.

The Leonid meteor shower offers another chance to catch shooting stars before dawn on November 17 and 18, after the Moon sets.

NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft reaches a historic one light-day milestone. Join the Shine Bright for Voyager’s Light-Day activation on November 17. Learn more at nasa.gov/voyager.

And on November 24, watch a full supermoon rise in the east around sunset, the first of three consecutive supermoons – in November, December, and January.
