Starship Flight 14: ORBIT OR BUST? For Starship thirteen flights, Starship has been climbing higher, flying farther, and surviving longer. But Flight 14 is different. SpaceX is now targeting the one milestone the program has never reached: orbit. And waiting inside the payload bay could be a fleet of Starlink V3 satellites ready to join the operational constellation. Booster 21 has fired all 33 engines. Ship 41 has completed its own engine tests. The paperwork points toward September 15. After years of development, Starship is finally approaching the moment when a successful launch could change the entire trajectory of the program. September 15 is not a formally announced Starship launch date from SpaceX. But a new FCC filing provides an intriguing clue. SpaceX asks the Commission to grant temporary authorization by September 15, 2026, describing September 15 as the planned deployment date for its new high-capacity Starlink satellites. The filing identifies these satellites as the latest generation, designed to deliver more than ten times the capacity of current Starlink spacecraft. That does not guarantee a Starship launch on September 15. But it puts a very interesting date on the calendar: SpaceX is planning a major Starlink deployment right as the Flight 14 campaign approaches its expected launch window. The hardware is moving rapidly toward launch. At Starbase in South Texas, Super Heavy Booster 21 recently completed one of the most important tests of the entire campaign. On August 28, all 33 Raptor engines fired together during a full-duration static-fire test. The spectacle lasted only seconds, but the significance was enormous.
