PARTIAL—PRACTICALLY TOTAL—LUNAR ECLIPSE | TIME LAPSE | AUGUST 27, 2026

On the evening of August 27 into the early morning of August 28, 2026, a partial—practically total—lunar eclipse was visible from Los Angeles. Griffith Observatory offered a live, online telescopic view of the entire eclipse. Instead of watching the three-and-a-half-hour stream, you can watch a forty-second time-lapse of the eclipse.
