Watch the International Space Station's eighth and final Roll-Out Solar Array (IROSA) unfurl in this amazing time-lapse captured during a spacewalk on Nov. 5, 2026! Full Story:
NASA astronaut Anil Menon and Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Joshua Kutryk ventured outside the orbiting laboratory to install and deploy the new solar array, marking the completion of a five-year project to boost the station's electrical power.
The eight roll-out solar arrays are designed to increase the ISS's available power by up to 30%, raising its power-generating capacity from approximately 160 to 215 kilowatts and supporting scientific research and station operations.
