Two mannequins flew around the Moon, and only one wore a vest 🌙

Helga and Zohar flew on Artemis I in 2022 to measure radiation beyond Earth’s protection. Helga went without a vest, while Zohar wore the AstroRad vest.

Now we know what a difference it could make. In a strong solar storm like the one in August 1972, the vest could cut an astronaut’s radiation dose by almost 60%.
