Take a close look at NGC 7129, a spectacular stellar nursery about 3,300 light-years from Earth, in this stunning image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope that has been described as a "technicolor dreamscape" by the European Space Agency (ESA). Webb’s infrared views reveals dense clouds of gas and dust, revealing stars and protostars at different stages of formation. The bright central star LkHα 234 is surrounded by a massive cavity carved into the molecular cloud by powerful outflows, while younger protostars hidden in the dusty region to the right are blasting out streams of superheated material. Zoom in and explore the chaotic birthplace of stars — where newborn stars are shaping the clouds around them. Credit: Space.com | footage: ESA/Webb, NASA, CSA, WIYN and NOIRLab, NSF, AURA, DSS2, A.
