Auroras Dance Over Greenland’s Icebergs — Stunning Arctic Timelapse (Sep 25, 2026)

Watch the Northern Lights dance across the Arctic sky in this timelapse captured from our livestream in Ilulissat, Greenland on the night of September 24–25, 2026. Glowing green auroras sweep across the sky above the ocean and towering icebergs drifting off the coast of Ilulissat. As the display brightens, some of the auroral glow can even be seen reflecting from the dark water below, creating an incredible combination of sky, sea and ice. The footage was captured during a period of elevated geomagnetic activity associated with a coronal hole high-speed solar wind stream. NOAA had forecast the possibility of G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm conditions, providing favorable conditions for auroras at Greenland's high latitude. Ilulissat lies beneath the auroral oval, making it one of the world's remarkable places to experience the Northern Lights. The combination of moving auroras, Arctic Ocean, enormous icebergs and reflections on the water makes every display here unique.
